Not to diss my grateful post or anything but I'm just throwing it out there that it would be way nice if I had unlimited money for music or if music was just an art that people gave away for free... So much music, so little time.
I'll keep it short and sweet today. JOTD Baby It's Cold Outside [Ella Fitzgerald]
1917-1996, "Queen of Jazz", 13 Grammys, and the most beautiful voice in old jazz probably ever. Definitely did not have an easy upbringing, she made her own way and had a rough emotional life. Check out wikipedia or something for more details, it's honestly rather tragic.
I am not sure why this didn't post when I posted my JOTD on the 25th but here it is now!

I needed a spot to compile all the good music I find and share it with other people so here we are

Happy Thanksgiving!
Oh heavens there is so much for me to be grateful for. Where do I even begin? My family, Jesus Christ, my job, my car, my home, my dog, my friends, my roommates, my religion, my freedoms, my clean water/food, my first world problems, my books, my opportunities at furthering my education, my missionary opportunity, my relationships both present and past (and future haha), lotion, contacts/glasses, the mountains, Chinese lanterns, ceramics in high school, late night adventures to feed my spirit, my health, good people out there trying to make the world a better place, those who fight for my freedoms when they don't even know me and will never meet me, the beautiful place I live, fun toys like long-boards and quads, toothbrushes and hair brushes, my speedy recovery with my wisdom teeth, cute toenail polish to try and make feet look sort of okay (I have a problem with feet--they are nasty. the end), kissing, beautiful views, boogie boards, the wonderful world in which I live, the knowledge I have, the temples, Abbi's crack cookies, music, camping, rock climbing, music concerts, unique individuals who are not afraid to express themselves, the clean society that I live in, modern technology both medical and otherwise... okay well I should probably hold it off there. There is so much to be grateful for that I could go on for a long long time. It makes you feel better when you count your blessings and all the things we are grateful for. It makes life more fulfilling and exciting. You can enjoy what life is meant to be about instead of trying to keep up with the ever changing world. It gets really tiring ya know? I'm just down to have a good boy and a way to live and I would be satisfied.
Anyways enough about me. Today I am featuring Jason Mraz. Mm what a beautiful man. Born in 1977 in Virginia. Calls his childhood pretty wholesome and a good place to grow up. Came about through the coffee scenes in the early 2000's. Hit song that brought him to the forefront of the music scene for a while "I'm Yours". Most definitely a blue eyed soul with a splash of alternative/pop rock here and there. Check out the JOTD with this post. Most definitely a fabulous song. Not sure it's really for sale though.. I dunno check iTunes of Beatport or something.
Tell that someone you love them my preciouses and have a happy fatty thanksgiving.

That's the Way
I had a revelation yesterday. I think that with my JOTD I will do a short bio on the singer/band that I post just because it's always fabulous to learn a little more about their past, it makes the songs more meaningful I think.
For today, I am featuring Duffy. [also if you have a moment look up her Warwick Avenue] Aimee Ann Duff was born in 1984 in Wales. A few of her inspirations to soul music were due to Whoopi Goldberg and her father. Her voice was so fabulous at an early age that she got kicked out of choir for standing out too much. At about age 15 is when she started singing in bands. Now here she is and we know her as being the beautiful 5'2'' blonde singer with big lips and an appetite for love.
Also I just have to give a shout out to Thanksgiving. I am most definitely thankful for no-shave-November, peppermint hot chocolate, and harmless compulsive liars because they always have something hilarious to say.
hugs and fist pumps darlings

I'm Still Figuring It Out
Among other things, the new blogger set-up situation is not making it any easier to figure out how to post posts under the correct tab :/ nevertheless I will continue to post! Today's JOTD is due to my mood about life right now. I am quite literally still figuring things out, it is 48 degrees outside, and the skies are grayer than your grandmothers powdered hair. Among all these usually-depressing ideas, there is beauty among us. Beautiful music that makes people come together from all over the world to share in the soulful vibrations and throaty hum of a gifted singer. Angus & Julia Stone are a talented duo and I hesitate to pick out any one song. But for today the song is titled "Choking."
Breathe deep children.

Fresh Start
Sometimes there is nothing better than a fresh apple in the morning to start off your day right... Okay so not sure how I feel about the apple theme I'm just trying to be creative here. Point is! I am going to be dedicated to this blog. Why this one you may ask? Because I actually care about music and not writing about my life on some random internet site when I can do that in my journal. Also, I desperately needed a place that I could compile all the music I love in some technological form. I figure a blog is the perfect place to do that because I can easily share it with others too! So my dears, read it and weep.
ps feel free to post replies to other fabulous music. we could make it one big jamsesh!
