Alright. Today this is a feature but a thoroughly disgusted feature on two artists that I have lost all respect for (which isn't saying much because there wasn't much to begin with). Britney Spears and Will.i.am. Their new "song" called Scream and Shout is nothing short of a beat stolen from Skeptas Rolex Sweep (a silly UK song which I have a sweet spot for http://youtu.be/tnar90VEwe4) which was created AT LEAST 4 years ago. Also, it's a rip off from Dizzie Rascals unique style and beats (also in collaboration with Calvin Harris on one of my favorites) Now I love UK pop/dub/trance. They know how to make it over there. But when some shitty "artist" tries to make a come-back by being a completely uninspired dick I tend to get a little ramped up over that. I am not sure I could ever say how much distaste I have for that song. It has also been played multiple times over the radio, thus proving a point why radio should die [overplay good songs, really overplay bad songs, ruin all mankind's hope for a better world with good music].
On the plus side, this was featured on Vevo and it is quite fabulous http://youtu.be/Oq3pDuJeMqQ [How to Destroy Angels-Ice Age]
Cheers to the Holidays!

If Only
Not to diss my grateful post or anything but I'm just throwing it out there that it would be way nice if I had unlimited money for music or if music was just an art that people gave away for free... So much music, so little time.
I'll keep it short and sweet today. JOTD Baby It's Cold Outside [Ella Fitzgerald]
1917-1996, "Queen of Jazz", 13 Grammys, and the most beautiful voice in old jazz probably ever. Definitely did not have an easy upbringing, she made her own way and had a rough emotional life. Check out wikipedia or something for more details, it's honestly rather tragic.
I am not sure why this didn't post when I posted my JOTD on the 25th but here it is now!

Happy Thanksgiving!
Oh heavens there is so much for me to be grateful for. Where do I even begin? My family, Jesus Christ, my job, my car, my home, my dog, my friends, my roommates, my religion, my freedoms, my clean water/food, my first world problems, my books, my opportunities at furthering my education, my missionary opportunity, my relationships both present and past (and future haha), lotion, contacts/glasses, the mountains, Chinese lanterns, ceramics in high school, late night adventures to feed my spirit, my health, good people out there trying to make the world a better place, those who fight for my freedoms when they don't even know me and will never meet me, the beautiful place I live, fun toys like long-boards and quads, toothbrushes and hair brushes, my speedy recovery with my wisdom teeth, cute toenail polish to try and make feet look sort of okay (I have a problem with feet--they are nasty. the end), kissing, beautiful views, boogie boards, the wonderful world in which I live, the knowledge I have, the temples, Abbi's crack cookies, music, camping, rock climbing, music concerts, unique individuals who are not afraid to express themselves, the clean society that I live in, modern technology both medical and otherwise... okay well I should probably hold it off there. There is so much to be grateful for that I could go on for a long long time. It makes you feel better when you count your blessings and all the things we are grateful for. It makes life more fulfilling and exciting. You can enjoy what life is meant to be about instead of trying to keep up with the ever changing world. It gets really tiring ya know? I'm just down to have a good boy and a way to live and I would be satisfied.
Anyways enough about me. Today I am featuring Jason Mraz. Mm what a beautiful man. Born in 1977 in Virginia. Calls his childhood pretty wholesome and a good place to grow up. Came about through the coffee scenes in the early 2000's. Hit song that brought him to the forefront of the music scene for a while "I'm Yours". Most definitely a blue eyed soul with a splash of alternative/pop rock here and there. Check out the JOTD with this post. Most definitely a fabulous song. Not sure it's really for sale though.. I dunno check iTunes of Beatport or something.
Tell that someone you love them my preciouses and have a happy fatty thanksgiving.
